Colourful, Handmade Ceramics

Made In The Heart Of Stoke on Trent

My Story

About the Stokie Potter

My name is Sarah Hallam, and my journey with clay began in July 2022 during a time of significant personal upheaval. After facing loss, ill health, redundancy, and a hard-fought battle with alcoholism, I walked into a pottery studio and discovered a life-changing passion. What started as a path to healing, quickly became a career, leading me to purchase my own wheel and kiln by late 2023.

Through dedicated study with master potter Jon French at Potclays, I have honed my craft, focusing on unique, one-off functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day. I am a lover of experimentation, constantly challenging myself with complex clay and glaze combinations that capture the spirit of the Potteries.

Today, you can find me:

  • Online: Sharing "no-peaking" kiln openings and studio updates with my global community on YouTube (launched June 2025).

  • In Person: Selling my handmade ceramics at iconic local venues like Middleport Pottery, Gladstone Pottery Museum, and the World of Wedgwood Makers Markets.

  • In Galleries: My work is proudly featured in the Gilders Wheel Gallery on Harper Street.

Every piece I make represents a step forward in my journey of recovery and creativity—thank you for being part of it.
